Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 October 2026 (version 2026-10-05)
These terms are the contract between you and us for using ClipyToons. Please read them before you subscribe. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
In short: ClipyToons is for adults (18+). Plans renew every month until you cancel, and you can cancel online in a few clicks. Credits carry over while your account is open. If you cancel within 14 days of first subscribing, we refund the price of any credits you haven't used. You own what you upload and what you make with it.
1. Who we are
ClipyToons (clipytoons.com) is an online studio for making short animated videos for children. It is operated by MediaVision UK. Our company details are listed under "Who we are" at the end of this page.
Contact us at [email protected] or open a ticket from Help. We reply by email.
2. Who can use ClipyToons
- You must be 18 or over to create an account, subscribe or use support chat. ClipyToons is made for parents, carers, teachers and creators who make videos for children. Children must not create accounts or use the service themselves.
- One person per account. Keep your sign-in details secure; you're responsible for activity on your account.
- If you use ClipyToons for a business, school or channel, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.
3. Subscriptions, prices and payment
- Plans. Starter costs $19.99 a month and includes 200 credits. Pro Plus costs $49.99 a month and includes 500 credits. Premium costs $99.99 a month and includes 1,000 credits.
- Prices. Prices are in US dollars and are the total you pay: no tax or fees are added at checkout. If your card is in another currency, your bank may charge a conversion fee.
- Automatic renewal. You pay when you subscribe, and then automatically each month on the same date until you cancel. There's no minimum term. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
- Renewal reminders. We email you before a renewal payment at least once in every 6-month period of your subscription (7 days before the payment is due), with the price, the date and how to cancel.
- Price changes. We'll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your plan. You can cancel before it takes effect and won't pay the new price.
- Changing plan. Upgrades take effect straight away: you see and confirm a prorated charge for the rest of the month and get the extra credits then. Downgrades take effect on your next renewal date. Your current plan runs to the end of the month you've paid for, and there's no refund for the difference.
- Pausing. Where we offer it, you can pause for one month. No payment is taken and no credits are added for the skipped month, and you keep the credits you already have.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it and we let you know. No credits are added until a payment succeeds. If payment still can't be collected, the subscription ends.
4. Credits
- Each successful subscription payment adds your plan's credits. A failed payment adds none. If we refund a payment, we remove the unused credits it added.
- Credits carry over from month to month and don't expire while your account is open, including after you cancel.
- The studio shows the credit cost of a video before you start rendering. Credits are reserved when a render starts and charged only when the finished video is ready; if the render fails, is blocked or is cancelled, the reserved credits go back to your balance.
- Credits have no cash value. They can't be transferred, sold or exchanged for money, except for the refunds described in these terms and on our Refunds & cancellation page.
- Unused credits are lost when you delete your account, so use them or ask about a refund first.
5. Cancelling your subscription
- Cancel at any time online under Account → Billing by choosing "Cancel subscription". You can also cancel by emailing [email protected] or opening a ticket from Help and telling us you want to cancel. We act on it promptly.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you've already paid for. No further payments are taken. You keep using your plan until then, and your unused credits stay in your account afterwards.
- We confirm every cancellation by email. If a subscription ends for another reason (for example, payment failed), we email you too.
- There are no cancellation fees. Deleting your account also cancels your subscription immediately.
6. Your 14-day right to cancel
UK consumer law gives you the right to cancel a new subscription within 14 days of the day you first subscribe, without giving a reason.
The studio is a digital service that starts as soon as you subscribe, so you can use your credits straight away. At checkout you ask us to start straight away and acknowledge what happens if you cancel. If you cancel within the 14 days, we refund what you paid minus the value of the credits you've already used. We work this out pro rata: credits used ÷ credits included in the plan × price paid. If you haven't used any credits, you get a full refund.
To use this right, cancel under Account → Billing and contact us within the 14 days by email or ticket saying you're cancelling under your 14-day right. You can use the model cancellation form on our Refunds & cancellation page, but you don't have to. We refund you within 14 days to your original payment method.
The 14-day right applies to the start of a new subscription. It doesn't apply to monthly renewals or plan upgrades, but our refund policy below still does.
7. Refunds and faulty videos
The service must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, and we must provide it with reasonable care and skill. A render that fails, is blocked or is cancelled is never charged. If a finished video is faulty because of us, we'll re-render it or return the credits. If we can't fix the problem, you may be entitled to some or all of your money back.
Monthly renewals aren't otherwise refundable once the payment has been taken and credits added, but cancelling stops future payments. Full details are on our Refunds & cancellation page.
8. Acceptable use
You agree to follow our Content Policy and not to:
- upload photos, voices or other material unless you have the right and permission to use them. You may only upload a photo of a child if you are their parent or legal guardian, or you have that person's permission. Don't upload photos of other people's children without their parent's consent;
- create content that is sexual, violent, hateful, harassing, defamatory or unlawful, or that sexualises or endangers children;
- impersonate real people, or create deceptive "deepfake" content of real people;
- try to get around safety checks, overload or reverse-engineer the service, scrape it, or resell access to it;
- share your account or use it to break the law or anyone else's rights.
AI output can be unexpected. Review every video before you share it. You're responsible for how you publish videos, including platform rules on AI-generated or "made for kids" content.
We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, for serious or repeated breaches of these terms. Where the law allows, we'll tell you why. If we close your account without you breaching these terms, we refund any unused part of your current month.
9. Your content and videos
- Your uploads stay yours. You keep all rights in the photos, text and ideas you upload. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display them only to provide the service to you (including through the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy), and to keep the service safe. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
- Your videos. As between you and us, the videos you create belong to you. You can use them for personal or commercial purposes, including monetised channels, as long as you follow these terms and respect other people's rights. AI tools can produce similar results for different users, and AI-generated material may not be protected by copyright in every country.
- Our service. The ClipyToons platform, brand, software, templates and styles remain ours or our licensors'.
10. Children's photos and privacy
If you upload a child's photo, you confirm you're their parent or guardian or have that person's permission. We use photos only to make your videos. They stay in your private projects, aren't used for advertising or profiling, and you can delete them at any time. See our Privacy Policy for how long we keep data and your rights.
11. Changes to the service and these terms
We keep improving ClipyToons and may change features or the AI models behind them. If a change significantly reduces what you've paid for, we'll tell you in advance and you can cancel and get a pro-rata refund for the rest of that month.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your subscription, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then. The version and date at the top show which terms apply.
12. Our responsibility to you
- If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable.
- If you use ClipyToons for business purposes (for example a monetised channel), we're not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or opportunity.
- If you use ClipyToons for business purposes, our total liability for any claim in a 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, including your statutory consumer rights.
- We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
13. Closing your account
You can delete your account and data at any time under Account & privacy. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription immediately, and unused credits are lost. We keep anonymised payment records for as long as bookkeeping law requires.
14. Complaints and law
If something goes wrong, contact us first at [email protected] or through Help. We'll try to put it right quickly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and you keep the protections of your local consumer law.
